Karista Smith is a singer/songwriter and a new Nashville Recording Artist. Born in Palm Springs, CA she grew up an hour north, in a small desert town called Yucca Valley.

A budding songwriter, at just 14, her first song was picked up by Epic Records. A year later, Karista appeared on Star Search on CBS then it was off to Universal Florida to compete on the Family Channel show, The New Original Amateur Hour.

As a young adult, Karista traveled to Los Angeles to pursue a career in country music, but landed the job in a popular swing band called the Speak Easy Spies. As the lead singer and songwriter, her song “Hey Kat” hit Billboard’s Top 200 chart at 105 and Karista was labeled “Swing’s Most Desirable Female”. When the swing scene ended, she returned to fulfill her original dream... A Country Music Artist.

Since then, Karista is rapidly being recognized for her amazing vocal and live performance talents. She has already appeared in-studio and received airplay on exclusive ClearChannel & CBS Owned radio stations in Arizona and California, sang for over 40,000 fans at Oregon State’s Reser Stadium and been invited to open for super stars such as Travis Tritt. A nationwide radio and concert tour begins Spring ‘08. Karista is proud and grateful of her loyal fan base, that stretches across the US & Canada and reaches as far as Europe, Australia and Asia!

She has had the great pleasure to work with some of the most amazing people in country music. The majority of her band plays for the popular television show, Nashville Star. Karista has received vocal training from the best in the world including the highly respected Renee Grant Williams & Seth Riggs.

Her album has been mixed and mastered by Grammy Nominated veterans; Chuck Ainlay, Jeff Balding and Hank Williams of Master Mix.

The music video for her first single, “Simple” was shot by 6-time Emmy award winning Fluid Images home of the 100’ Strada Crane and known for such films as Titanic, Sea Biscuit, Transformers and Spiderman. They’ve also shot videos for the likes of Brooks & Dunn and Shania Twain.

With her fun nature, amazing vocal & performance talent, it’s no wonder that Karista has been met with such excitement from fans and industry alike.
